Part One: Interviewing Local Artists for Art Walking Tour

Fargo Walking Tours Artist Interview Series: Jeff Knight

About Jeff Knight

Jeff Knight (find him on Instagram at #hellocereal) is a graphic designer and co-owner of the creative studio Cereal. While he mainly focuses on digital work, he has worked on public art in the form of the sign language bike racks (at the corner of Broadway and 2nd ave N) and the Wildflower Mural (at the corner of 8th st and 1st ave S). In this interview, Jeff talks about his inspiration behind the pieces; the way community impacts public art; and on future work he is excited to bring to Fargo.

Our Artist Interview Series

This interview was conducted by Civic Innovation Force Fellow Emily Hopfauf as a component of an art walking tour for Downtown Fargo. Audio interviews with Jeff Knight and other artists are being integrated into a self-guided art walking tour to give users a look into the perspective of the artists. The walking tours being developed will provide a framework for learning, exploring, and interacting in new ways with our community, even as social distancing practices remain the norm.

Fargo Walking Tours is hosting an official launch event on Saturday, August 15 from 1 – 4pm. This is a free community event to celebrate the completion of the project. Several tour locations will host booths with activities, giveaways, and more.
